Time on the CLOC

Joseph Frantz
Time on the CLOC

Short update this week, as we are working the floor at CLOC Global. CLOC is a gathering of legal operations professionals, primarily on the corporate side.

One of the biggest learnings from this conference, one that we are taking with us and thinking through the implications of, is the extent to which managing outside counsel spend is a top priority for Corporate America.

TimeSentry’s AI engine, which can be used to conform time records to a user-provided stylesheet, is just as powerful analyzing time entries as it is creating them. While we primarily serve timekeepers and professionals, it bodes well for our business that AI tools are coming for the billing analytics and auditing side. The bar for time entries just got that much higher. We are beginning to understand the AI tools that clients are subjecting bills to at a granular level through talking with the ops-side technologists here.

It is increasingly clear that ensuring bills conform to client guidelines will drive technology adoption at existing law firms. Moreover, every deputy GC I spoke with is tightening the grace period for when firms can deliver bills. That means timely record-keeping will become even more important than it is today.

We are exploring ways to partner on both sides to add transparency, accountability, and trust to the billing process. Meanwhile, we remain focused on our core mission of alleviating timesheet burden for hourly billers.

Until next week, Joseph
